For Midlothian, A rejoicing.
(begin Laments in Midlothian series with part I of V here)
–
A rejoicing was heard in Midlothian,
But its revels were spiritual in kind,
The prince of the city opined w/ no pity
———- -this victory surely is fine.
–
There was a man of great stature, that once
Stood here, strong, broad, and tall,
———- His shadow, a peace to his kin.
But his shade is lain low
———- The spirit now flown
Some say, on account of his skin.
The prince snickers.
The Skin, the skin, is just a way in,
A wound that is ripe to be picked.
The skin -not yet healed scab-
That is easy to grab
and rip and
To use for the sin.
———-
A rejoicing in Midlothian,
Two-fold in the least.
A rejoicing fit for a feast.
———-
The one who was brought low,
With places to go,
A problem, if not made deceased.
———-
The war is long,
-War, is perhaps, not the right word
———-
It is… and the prince knows it to be true
Because the prince knows Who is true…
———-Because THE PRINCE only is TRUTH
——————–And they know
———-–The princes know. This prince knows-
——————–And they tremble
———-
So perhaps, incorporeal-fingernails-clawing-at-the-
flotsam-(not jetsam, though it may seem that way
to the world, but never to THE PRINCE),-
at-the-adamah,-at-
– the-red,-on-the-long-and-inevitable-way-to-The-
Pit-and-The-Lake, is a better way to put it-
———-
———-Is long, is long, is long.
———-But for now, the knee need not bend.
———-
And there is this time,
Wounds not healed,
Work to be done
(Like a roaring, ravenous, desperate lion).
And desolations, devastations to protect,
Breaches to maintain, and pry, peel, widen and gape.
And there are (would-be/could-be) protectors,
repairers of the breach.
And these are the ones the prince must distract,
And discourage, and silence, and end.
The princes must silence, and end.
———-These are the ones that (would/could) subdue it.
———-
He was a guardian of the house…
Of stature, and courage, and restraint.
And his hands held a child,
And filled churches with music for praise.
———-
A protector, repairer, shepherd,
———- The prince silences them, and ends them,
———-And reaps of old, unhealed wounds,
——————– (two-fold -for it is both the roaring and
——————– the devouring-)
———-Seeds bearing strange fruit
——————– (after their own kind)
———-And rejoices in Midlothian,
——————–(and abroad in the land)
Again
